Ingredients

  • Venison ground meat - 300 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Sweet potato - 1 medium, sliced into rounds (for serving)
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for serving)
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced (for serving)
  • Avocado - 1 small, sliced (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground venison, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, cilantro, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, preheat a separate pan and grill the sweet potato rounds for about 3-4 minutes on each side until tender and slightly charred.
  5. To assemble, place each venison burger on a lettuce leaf, top with sliced tomato and avocado, and serve alongside the grilled sweet potato rounds.
