- Boiled potatoes - 200 grams
- Green peas - 100 grams
- Carrot (grated) - 50 grams
- Green beans (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Rice flour - 2 tablespoons (for binding)
- Oil - for shallow frying
Steps
- In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes until smooth.
- Add the green peas, grated carrot, chopped green beans, onion, ginger paste, green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, and chopped coriander leaves to the bowl.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Add rice flour to the mixture to help bind the ingredients together and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil.
- Once the oil is hot, place the patties in the pan, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the tikki are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the tikki from the pan and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt dip.
