Ingredients
- Potato (boiled and mashed) - 200 grams
- Green peas (boiled) - 100 grams
- Onion (finely chopped) - 50 grams
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Bread crumbs - 50 grams
- Egg (beaten) - 1 large
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
- Yogurt - 2 tablespoons
- Mint chutney - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the boiled and mashed potatoes, boiled green peas, chopped onion, green chili, ginger, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well until all ingredients are fully integrated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties. Coat each patty in beaten egg and then roll in bread crumbs to create a crispy outer layer.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Once hot, place the patties in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns in another pan or toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a crispy vegetable patty, slices of tomato and cucumber, and a dollop of yogurt and mint chutney. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve the Vegetable Samosa Burgers immediately with extra chutney on the side.
