Ingredients

  • Cucumber - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Carrot - 50 grams, grated
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • Cilantro (coriander leaves) - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chat masala - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Wash all the vegetables thoroughly under running water.
  2. Finely chop the cucumber, tomato, and onion, and place them in a mixing bowl.
  3. Grate the carrot and add it to the bowl.
  4. Finely chop the green chili and add it to the mixture.
  5. Add chopped cilantro to the bowl.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and chat masala if using.
  7. Pour the dressing over the chopped vegetables and toss gently to combine.
  8. Let the kachumber sit for about 5 minutes for the flavors to meld before serving.
