- Semolina (rava) - 30 grams
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Warm water - 75 ml (adjust as needed)
- Oil for frying - 500 ml (approx.)
- Chopped fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, semolina, cumin seeds, salt, and black pepper powder.
- Gradually add warm water while kneading the mixture to form a smooth and soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- After resting, divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully drop one puri at a time into the oil.
- Fry the puris until they puff up and turn golden brown, about 30 seconds to 1 minute per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped coriander, alongside your choice of vegan curry or chutney.
