- Green gram (mung beans) - 150 grams
- Rice - 50 grams
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, grated
- Green chili - 1, chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 500 ml (or as needed)
- Oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
Steps
- Rinse the green gram and rice together in water, then soak them in enough water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked mixture and transfer it to a blender. Add grated ginger, chopped green chili, cumin seeds, and salt.
- Blend the mixture to a smooth batter, adding water as needed to achieve a pourable consistency.
- Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat. Grease it lightly with oil.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the center of the pan and spread it out in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
- Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the dosa and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the other side is cooked through.
- Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as necessary.
- Serve hot with ginger chutney or any preferred side dish.
