Ingredients
- Raw cashews - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons
- Black salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Water - 50 ml
Steps
- Soak the raw cashews in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain and rinse the soaked cashews, then blend them with coconut milk, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, black salt, cumin powder, and water until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it sit at room temperature for 6-8 hours to ferment slightly, or refrigerate if not using immediately.
- In a small pan, heat a teaspoon of oil and add mustard seeds, allowing them to pop. Once they pop, pour this tempering over the vegan dahi.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves before serving.
