- Oil - 2 tablespoons for cooking
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - as needed for dough

Steps
- In a pressure cooker, add soaked chickpeas, salt, and enough water to cover them. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until soft. Set aside.
- In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then add ginger, garlic, and green chili, sautéing for another 2 minutes.
- Stir in the pureed tomato, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the cooked chickpeas along with some of their cooking liquid to the pan. Mix well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add garam masala and mix thoroughly. Garnish with chopped cilantro and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water to knead into a soft dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into circles about 6 inches in diameter.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying. Once hot, carefully drop in the rolled dough and fry until they puff up and turn golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot bhature with the chole, garnished with cilantro.
