Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 250 grams
  • Potatoes - 200 grams
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
  • Chutney (green chutney or tamarind chutney) - 4 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Tomato - 1 small, sliced
  • Coriander leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Vegan cheese (optional) - 100 grams

Steps

  1. Boil the potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and let cool, then peel and mash.
  2. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds; once they splutter, add cumin seeds, green chili, ginger, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the mashed potatoes to the pan and mix well. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  5. Spread the chutney evenly over the pizza base, then layer the potato mixture on top.
  6. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the potato layer for extra crunch, followed by sliced onions, tomatoes, and coriander leaves.
  7. If using, sprinkle vegan cheese on top of the vegetables.
  8. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot with additional chutney on the side.
