  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Tandoori masala - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 1/2 medium
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Red onion (sliced) - 1/4 medium
  • Fresh cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, tandoori masala, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into strips and coat them thoroughly with the marinade. Cover and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate pan for 1-2 minutes on each side until soft and pliable.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, place the cooked chicken strips inside the warm pita bread. Top with sliced cucumber, tomato, red onion, and chopped cilantro.
