- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat pita bread - 2 pieces
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1/2 medium
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Red onion (sliced) - 1/4 medium
- Fresh cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, tandoori masala, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt to create a marinade.
- Cut the chicken breast into strips and coat them thoroughly with the marinade. Cover and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- While the chicken is cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate pan for 1-2 minutes on each side until soft and pliable.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- To assemble, place the cooked chicken strips inside the warm pita bread. Top with sliced cucumber, tomato, red onion, and chopped cilantro.
