Ingredients

  • Sweet potatoes - 300 grams
  • Rice flour - 50 grams
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil (for brushing) - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Peel and chop the sweet potatoes into cubes, then boil them in water until tender, about 15 minutes.
  3. Drain the sweet potatoes and mash them in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add rice flour, grated ginger, chopped green chili, chopped cilantro, cumin powder, salt, black pepper powder, and lemon juice to the mashed sweet potatoes. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into small patties or tikkis, about 2 inches in diameter.
  6. Place the tikkis on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops lightly with oil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
