- Sweet potato - 300 grams
- Ghee - 1 tablespoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Almonds (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Cashews (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Raisins - 2 tablespoons
- Honey or jaggery - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 100 ml
- Coconut flakes (optional) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Peel and grate the sweet potato using a grater or food processor.
- In a non-stick pan, heat ghee over medium heat.
- Add the grated sweet potato to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Pour in the milk and let it cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sweet potato is soft and the mixture thickens.
- Add honey or jaggery, cardamom powder, and mix well.
- In a separate small pan, lightly roast the chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins until golden brown, then add them to the halwa.
- If using, mix in the coconut flakes and stir everything together.
- Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and serve warm.
