Ingredients

  • Sweet potato - 300 grams
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Almonds (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Cashews (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Raisins - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey or jaggery - 2 tablespoons
  • Milk - 100 ml
  • Coconut flakes (optional) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Peel and grate the sweet potato using a grater or food processor.
  2. In a non-stick pan, heat ghee over medium heat.
  3. Add the grated sweet potato to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  4. Pour in the milk and let it cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sweet potato is soft and the mixture thickens.
  5. Add honey or jaggery, cardamom powder, and mix well.
  6. In a separate small pan, lightly roast the chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins until golden brown, then add them to the halwa.
  7. If using, mix in the coconut flakes and stir everything together.
  8. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and serve warm.
