Ingredients

  • squirrel meat - 250 grams, minced
  • ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt - to taste
  • black pepper - to taste
  • fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • cucumber - 1 small, sliced

Steps

  1. In a skillet, heat the ghee over medium heat, then add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  3. In a bowl, combine the minced squirrel meat with the sautéed onion mixture, coriander, cumin, turmeric, red chili powder, salt, black pepper, and chopped cilantro. Mix well.
  4. Form the meat mixture into two patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  5. In the same skillet, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked through and browned.
  6. To serve, place each patty on a large lettuce leaf, topped with slices of tomato and cucumber.
