Ingredients

  • Baby potatoes - 400 grams
  • Yogurt - 100 grams
  • Ginger paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Wash and scrub the baby potatoes thoroughly, then boil them in salted water for about 10-12 minutes until they are fork-tender. Drain and let them cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
  3. Once the potatoes are cool enough to handle, prick them all over with a fork to allow the marinade to penetrate. Add the potatoes to the marinade and toss until they are evenly coated.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  5. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated potatoes onto skewers, leaving a little space between each potato for even cooking.
  6. Brush the skewered potatoes with olive oil and place them on the grill. Cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the potatoes are charred and crispy on the outside.
  7. Once done, remove the skewers from the grill and sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
