Ingredients
- Semolina (Sooji) - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup, grated
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (cashews and almonds) - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 1/4 cup
Steps
- Heat a pan on medium flame and add coconut oil.
- Once the oil is melted, add the semolina and roast it for about 8-10 minutes, stirring continuously until it turns light golden brown and fragrant.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the grated jaggery in 1/4 cup water and heat it gently until it melts completely.
- Pour the melted jaggery into the roasted semolina, stirring well to combine.
- Add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts to the mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly until it is manageable to touch.
- Grease your palms with a little coconut oil and form the mixture into small round balls (ladoo).
- Let the ladoos cool completely before serving.
