Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 1 cup
  • Tapioca flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
  • Water - 1/4 cup (as needed)
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon (optional, for topping)
  • Cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon (optional, for topping)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, tapioca flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add additional water, one tablespoon at a time.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal portions and flatten each portion into a disc about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Heat the coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot.
  5. Carefully place one disc of dough into the skillet, frying until golden brown on one side, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip the frybread and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the second side is golden brown.
  7. Remove the frybread and place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat with the second disc of dough.
  8. Serve warm, optionally drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon.
