Ingredients

  • Vermicelli - 100 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
  • Milk - 500 milliliters
  • Sugar - 4 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds - 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped pistachios - 2 tablespoons
  • Raisins - 2 tablespoons
  • Saffron strands - a pinch

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of ghee over medium heat.
  2. Add 100 grams of vermicelli to the pan and roast it until golden brown, stirring frequently for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Once roasted, add 500 milliliters of milk to the pan and bring it to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and add 4 tablespoons of sugar, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Add 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder, a pinch of saffron, and mix well.
  6. Simmer the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, or until the vermicelli is cooked and the mixture thickens slightly.
  7. In the final minute of cooking, add 2 tablespoons of chopped almonds, 2 tablespoons of chopped pistachios, and 2 tablespoons of raisins.
  8. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
