Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, ajwain, and salt.
- Gradually add water to the flour mixture, stirring continuously until a smooth, thick batter forms.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, place the batter in a sev maker or a piping bag fitted with a fine nozzle.
- Press the batter into the hot oil in circular motions to form thin strands.
- Fry until the sev turns golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the sev from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Allow the sev to cool completely before storing or serving.
