Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 1 tablespoon, minced
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Cilantro (fresh coriander) - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)
  • Oil - for brushing

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chili, and cilantro.
  2. Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to the mixture.
  3. Mix everything thoroughly using your hands until well combined and sticky.
  4. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion around a skewer, pressing firmly to adhere.
  5. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with oil.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the kebabs are browned and cooked through.
  7. Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  8. Serve hot with mint chutney, sliced onions, and naan.
