Ingredients

  • Roasted chestnuts - 200 grams
  • Coconut sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds - 2 tablespoons
  • Dried figs, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. If using raw chestnuts, score the chestnuts with an X on the flat side and boil them for 10 minutes, then roast in the oven for 20 minutes until tender. If using pre-roasted, skip this step.
  3. In a skillet, melt the ghee over medium heat.
  4. Add the cooked chestnuts to the skillet and toss them in the melted ghee.
  5. Sprinkle coconut sugar, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder, and a pinch of salt over the chestnuts, stirring well to coat evenly.
  6. Add chopped almonds and dried figs, mixing everything together.
  7. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until warm and fragrant.
  8. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
