Ingredients

  • Chickpeas (dried) - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh coriander (cilantro) - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Rinse the dried chickpeas under cold water and soak them in water for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  3. After soaking, drain the chickpeas and spread them on a clean kitchen towel to dry.
  4. Once dried, transfer the chickpeas to a mixing bowl, add olive oil, salt, chili powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the chickpeas evenly.
  5. Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until they are golden brown and crunchy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly, then drizzle with lemon juice and toss in chopped coriander.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature as a healthy snack.
