Ingredients

  • Fish fillets (such as pomfret or tilapia) - 300 grams
  • Semolina (rawa) - 100 grams
  • Rice flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil (for frying) - 200 ml

Steps

  1. Clean the fish fillets and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and chopped coriander leaves to create a marinade.
  3. Coat the fish fillets with the marinade and let them rest for 15 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, combine semolina and rice flour to create the coating mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Take each marinated fish fillet and coat it evenly with the semolina and rice flour mixture.
  7. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated fillets in the pan and fry for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the fried fish from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your choice of dipping sauce.
