Ingredients

  • Fish fillets (such as pomfret or tilapia) - 200 grams
  • Semolina (rawa) - 50 grams
  • Rice flour - 20 grams
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut oil - for frying (approx. 3 tablespoons)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
  2. Add the fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. In a separate plate, combine the semolina and rice flour.
  4. Heat coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Take each marinated fish fillet and coat it in the semolina and rice flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
  6. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated fish fillets in the pan.
  7. Fry the fish for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the fish from the pan and place it on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.
