- Kidney beans - 200 grams (cooked and drained)

- Garlic - 2 cloves (minced)
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon (grated)
- Green chili - 1 (finely chopped)
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
- Oil - for shallow frying
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 (sliced)
- Onion - 1 small (sliced)
- Cucumber - 1 small (sliced)
- Vegan mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Mint chutney - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, mash the cooked kidney beans until smooth but still slightly chunky.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green chili, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, black pepper, bread crumbs, and chopped coriander leaves to the mashed beans. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by lightly toasting them on a skillet.
- To assemble the burger, spread vegan mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, add the cooked rajma patty, and top with sliced tomato, onion, and cucumber.
- Spread mint chutney on the top half of the bun and place it over the assembled burger. Serve immediately.
