Ingredients

  • Plain yogurt - 200 grams
  • Boondi - 50 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 small, grated
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Regular salt - to taste
  • Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Oil - for frying (optional, if making boondi at home)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the plain yogurt until smooth.
  2. Add water to the yogurt to achieve a desired consistency and mix well.
  3. Incorporate grated cucumber, chopped coriander leaves, cumin powder, black salt, regular salt, finely chopped green chili, and lemon juice into the yogurt mixture. Stir until well combined.
  4. If using store-bought boondi, gently fold it into the yogurt mixture. If making boondi at home, fry the boondi until golden brown and let it cool before adding.
  5. Taste the raita and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve chilled or at room temperature as a side dish.
