Ingredients

  • Ragi flour - 1 cup
  • Water - 2.5 cups
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee (optional for serving) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, bring 2.5 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  3. Gradually add 1 cup of ragi flour to the boiling water while continuously stirring with a whisk or a wooden spatula to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook the mixture on low heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly for a couple of minutes.
  6. Wet your hands with water and shape the ragi mixture into small balls (about the size of a lemon).
  7. Serve the Ragi Mudde warm with sambar or chutney, and optionally drizzle with ghee.
