- Puffed rice - 100 grams
- Peanut oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Chopped onion - 1/4 cup
- Chopped tomato - 1/4 cup
- Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Roasted peanuts - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Heat the peanut oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds, and let them sizzle until they start to pop.
- Stir in the turmeric powder and chili powder, and sauté for about 30 seconds.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped tomato and cook for another 2 minutes until softened.
- Add the puffed rice to the pan, mixing well to coat it with the spice mixture.
- Season with salt, and toss in the chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
- Remove from heat and fold in the roasted peanuts before serving.
