Ingredients

  • Besan (chickpea flour) - 100 grams
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Finely chopped onion - 50 grams
  • Finely chopped green bell pepper - 50 grams
  • Finely chopped tomato - 50 grams
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil for cooking - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the besan, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, whisking to create a smooth batter.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion, green bell pepper, tomato, and coriander leaves until well combined.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1/2 tablespoon of oil.
  5. Once the oil is hot, pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet, spreading it into a thin, round pancake.
  6. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, until the edges turn golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Repeat the process for the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
  8. Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt for dipping.
