- Prawns (cleaned and deveined) - 300 grams
- Yogurt - 100 grams

- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Skewers - 4 (soaked in water if wooden)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and salt to create a marinade.
- Add the cleaned prawns to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat (about 200°C or 400°F).
- Thread the marinated prawns onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each prawn.
- Brush the skewers with oil and place them on the grill or in the oven.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the prawns are cooked through and have a slight char.
- Remove from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Serve the prawn tikka hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
