- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Water - as needed
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Oil - for deep frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Add water gradually to the flour mixture, stirring until it reaches a thick batter consistency.
- Mix in the prawns, sliced onion, green chili, coriander leaves, and lemon juice until well-coated.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the prawn mixture into the oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce.
