Ingredients

  • Green chilies - 2, slit
  • Tomato - 1 medium, pureed
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and slit green chilies; sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oil separates.
  5. Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt; cook for an additional minute.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the prawns to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala over the curry and stir well.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
  10. Serve hot with rice or naan.
