Ingredients

  • Prawns (cleaned and deveined) - 250 grams

  • Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 inch piece
  • Tomato (chopped) - 1 medium
  • Green chili (slit) - 1
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped tomato and green chili, cooking until the tomato softens.
  5. Sprinkle in turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder; mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Pour in the coconut milk, stirring to combine, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Add the cleaned prawns and cook for 5-7 minutes until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  8. Season with salt and lemon juice, then remove from heat.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
