  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut milk - 100 ml
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Curry leaves - a sprig
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds; let them splutter.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the pureed tomato, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt; cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Pour in the coconut milk and mix well. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add the cleaned prawns and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are pink and cooked through.
  7. Add curry leaves and mix gently, cooking for an additional 2 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
