Ingredients

  • Prawns (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams

  • Tomato (finely chopped) - 1 medium
  • Cucumber (diced) - 1 small
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Chaat masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Pomegranate seeds - 2 tablespoons (for garnish)
  • Sev (crispy chickpea noodles) - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a pan, heat a teaspoon of oil over medium heat and add the prawns. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they are pink and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped red onion, tomato, cucumber, and coriander leaves.
  3. Add the cooked prawns to the bowl and mix well.
  4. Drizzle the lemon juice over the mixture, and sprinkle chaat masala, cumin powder, green chili (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss gently to combine all ingredients.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve the prawn chaat in bowls, garnished with pomegranate seeds and sev on top.
