Ingredients
- Prawns - 200 grams, peeled and deveined
- Basmati rice - 100 grams, cooked and cooled
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Fresh coriander - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- All-purpose flour - 3 tablespoons (for binding)
- Bread crumbs - for coating
- Oil - for frying
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the cooked basmati rice, chopped prawns, onion, garlic, ginger, green chili, coriander, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Add all-purpose flour to the mixture and stir to combine. If the mixture is too wet, add more flour until it holds together when shaped.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Roll each ball in bread crumbs until fully coated.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the prawn biryani balls in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the balls for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt dip.
