Ingredients

  • Prawns (cleaned and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 medium
  • Tomato (chopped) - 1 medium
  • Green chili (slit) - 1
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Cilantro (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil (vegetable or mustard) - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, add chopped onions, and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and slit green chili; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften and oil separates.
  4. Add the cleaned prawns to the pan and mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes until prawns turn pink and are cooked through.
  5. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice and chopped cilantro.
  7. Serve hot with rice or naan.
