- Ginger - 1 inch, grated
- Tomato - 1 medium, chopped
- Green chili - 1, slit
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
- Water - 150 milliliters
Steps
- Heat the cooking oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter before adding the chopped onions.
- Sauté the onions until they turn golden brown, then add the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute.
- Add the diced pork to the pan and brown it on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped tomato and green chili, cooking until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt; mix well to coat the pork evenly with the spices.
- Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it simmer on low heat for 25-30 minutes or until the pork is tender.
- Once cooked, sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix well.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
