Ingredients
- flattened rice - 1 cup
- onion - 1 medium, chopped
- green chili - 1, slit
- mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- peas - 1/2 cup
- peanuts - 2 tbsp
- curry leaves - 10
- salt - to taste
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- coriander leaves - for garnish
- oil - 2 tbsp
Steps
- Wash the flattened rice in water and drain. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add curry leaves and peanuts.
- Add chopped onions and green chili; sauté until onions are translucent.
- Stir in turmeric powder and peas; cook for a few minutes until peas are tender.
- Add the drained flattened rice and salt; mix well.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat, add lemon juice, and garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
