- Fresh chhena - 200 grams

- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 teaspoon
- Saffron strands - a pinch
- Rose water - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh chhena and powdered sugar, and knead until smooth.
- Add the finely chopped pistachios, cardamom powder, and milk to the chhena mixture, and mix well to incorporate all ingredients.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan over low heat, then add the chhena mixture. Cook while stirring continuously for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, then add the saffron strands and rose water, mixing thoroughly.
- Grease your hands with a little ghee, and shape the mixture into small discs or desired shapes.
- Place the shaped sandesh on a plate and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving.
