Ingredients

  • Gluten-free all-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Plain yogurt - 50 grams
  • Coconut flakes - 30 grams
  • Chopped walnuts - 30 grams
  • Chopped almonds - 30 grams
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - for brushing
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and yogurt.
  3. Mix together until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  4. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 2 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten into an oval shape on a floured surface.
  5. Sprinkle coconut flakes, chopped walnuts, and chopped almonds on top of each oval. Fold the dough over to encase the filling and then roll out gently again into a flatbread shape.
  6. Heat a tandoor or a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the naan on the hot surface and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Brush the cooked naan with melted ghee and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
