  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Green chili - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)

Steps

  1. Rinse the green mung beans and basmati rice separately under running water until the water runs clear. Soak the mung beans in water for 4 hours and the rice for 30 minutes.

  4. Add the chopped onions, green chili, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
  5. Pour the prepared batter into the pan, spreading it evenly. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  6. Carefully flip the pesarattu and cook the other side for another 5-7 minutes.
  7. Once both sides are cooked, remove from the pan and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.
