Steps
- Begin by shredding the dried bison or beef into fine pieces using your hands or a food processor.
- In a small pot, melt the rendered animal fat over low heat until it becomes liquid.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded meat, dried blueberries, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Pour the melted fat into the bowl with the meat mixture and stir thoroughly until everything is well combined.
- Line a small baking dish or container with parchment paper and pour the mixture into it, pressing it down firmly to pack it tightly.
- Allow the pemmican to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
