Ingredients

  • Paneer - 200 grams
  • Tomatoes - 3 medium, pureed
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilies - 1, slit
  • Cashew nuts - 2 tablespoons, soaked and blended
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cream - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the pureed tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Stir in the cashew paste and cook for another 2-3 minutes, adding a little water if necessary to achieve a smooth consistency.
  6. Add the paneer cubes and garam masala, gently mixing to coat the paneer in the gravy. Cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Finish with fresh cream, stirring well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
