Ingredients

  • Paneer - 200 grams
  • Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  • Yogurt - 2 tablespoons
  • Capsicum (bell pepper) - 1 medium, sliced
  • Onion - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green chilies - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Cilantro (fresh coriander) - a handful, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, a pinch of salt, and water to make a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions, capsicum, and green chilies, and sauté until soft.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the pan. Stir for a minute.
  4. Crumble the paneer into the pan and mix well. Add garam masala and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and add chopped cilantro and lemon juice. Set aside.
  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll each into a thin circle (about 8 inches in diameter).
  6. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and cook each rolled paratha until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Place the cooked paratha on a flat surface, add the paneer mixture in the center, and roll tightly.
  8. Slice the roll in half and serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
