- Paneer - 200 grams
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
- Tomatoes - 2 medium, pureed
- Cashew nuts - 2 tablespoons, soaked and blended
- Cream - 2 tablespoons
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Heat the butter and oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Mix in the turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the soaked and blended cashew paste, stirring well to combine.
- Pour in a cup of water and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Add the paneer cubes and let them cook in the gravy for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cream and garam masala, adjusting seasoning as needed.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
