Ingredients

  • Paneer - 200 grams
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Tomatoes - 2 medium, pureed
  • Cashew nuts - 2 tablespoons, soaked and blended
  • Cream - 2 tablespoons
  • Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the butter and oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates from the mixture.
  5. Mix in the turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the soaked and blended cashew paste, stirring well to combine.
  7. Pour in a cup of water and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  8. Add the paneer cubes and let them cook in the gravy for about 5 minutes.
  9. Stir in the cream and garam masala, adjusting seasoning as needed.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
