- Paneer - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Tomato - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Skewers - 4 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- Crumble the paneer into a bowl and set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan, and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in chopped tomatoes, green chili, turmeric, cumin, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
- Add the crumbled paneer to the pan and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Sprinkle garam masala and fresh coriander leaves over the mixture, and add lemon juice. Mix well and remove from heat.
- Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
- Take the paneer mixture and form small portions around each skewer, pressing them firmly to ensure they hold together.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they develop a nice char.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt.
