- Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
- Fresh spinach (washed and chopped) - 1 cup
- Water - as needed (approximately 1/4 cup)
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil (for cooking) - 2 teaspoons
- Yogurt (for serving) - 1/2 cup
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped spinach, cumin seeds, grated ginger, chopped green chili, and salt.
- Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a soft dough. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- Dust the rolling surface with some flour and roll out each ball into a flat circle, about 6-7 inches in diameter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the rolled paratha on it.
- Cook for about 1-2 minutes until small bubbles form, then flip it over.
- Drizzle a teaspoon of oil around the edges and on top, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining dough balls, keeping the cooked parathas warm in a cloth.
- Serve hot with yogurt on the side.
