Ingredients

  • Fresh grated coconut - 200 grams
  • Jaggery (grated) - 100 grams
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Chopped nuts (cashews, almonds) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a pan, add the grated coconut, jaggery, and water. Cook on medium heat, stirring continuously until the jaggery melts and mixes well with the coconut.
  2. Once the mixture starts to thicken (about 10-12 minutes), add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts. Mix well.
  3. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the mixture becomes dry and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly until it is safe to handle.
  5. Grease your hands with a little oil and shape the mixture into small round balls (narus). Allow them to cool completely before serving.
