- Fresh grated coconut - 150 grams
- Condensed milk - 100 grams
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped nuts (almonds and cashews) - 30 grams
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
- Desiccated coconut (for rolling) - 50 grams
Steps
- In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of ghee over medium heat.
- Add the grated coconut and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes slightly fragrant.
- Pour in the condensed milk and mix thoroughly with the coconut.
- Add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts, stirring until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Once cool enough to handle, grease your hands with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small round balls (ladoo).
- Roll each ladoo in desiccated coconut to coat them evenly.
- Place the finished ladoos on a plate and refrigerate for about 10 minutes before serving.
