- Fresh grated coconut - 200 grams
- Jaggery (grated) - 100 grams
- Almonds (finely chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 50 ml
Steps
- In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
- Add the grated coconut and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the grated jaggery in 50 ml of water over low heat until it forms a syrup; this should take about 5 minutes.
- Once the jaggery is dissolved, pour it over the sautéed coconut mixture.
- Add the cardamom powder and chopped almonds to the mixture, and stir well to combine.
- Continue to cook on low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan, about 10-12 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased plate or tray and flatten it evenly using a spatula.
- Allow it to cool for about 15-20 minutes before cutting it into squares or diamonds.
